Vanilla Frosting

Georgetown Cupcakes’ Vanilla Frosting

AHA! I’ve got it. I’ve found it. I’m sharing it. And you need to make it.

My first years living in DC, I was hooked on the cupcake craze and dying to get some from Georgetown Cupcakes. Back then it was just a small shop in the quintessential tourist trap of DC. Today it’s still a small shop, but with hordes of people lining along 33rd Street for a cupcake, making Georgetown even more of a tourist trap. (Washingtonians, am I right, or am I right?)

If you do end up taking a stroll on M St. and decide you want a Georgetown Cupcake, word of advice – go during the week. Unless you like standing in line with hundreds and hundreds of people (sort of like Disneyland, only you’re not about to ride Space Mountain). Once you have your taste of their goodies, head to the grocery store, buy the following ingredients, and make your very own Georgetown Cupcakes’ Vanilla Frosting. You’ll be amazed that you can bake your own version of their goodies at a fraction of the price and time.

‘Til the next time,
